UPDATE: 13th February 2025
Heavy rainfall and flooding at the start of the year caused chaos in some of our villages. One problem has been the dip in the road at Fenn Lanes by the Dadlington Crossroads which has been flooded for quite some time.
After the water cleared, the road remained closed - causing significant disruption to local people.
I have raised this with LCC, which is responsible for highways and flood prevention and drain maintenance in our area.

UPDATE: 30th January 2025
Once again, heavy rainfall, storms and blocked drains has resulted in flooding in across our community, causing havoc to local people, their homes and businesses.
Towards the end of last year I convened a meeting of representatives from Leicestershire County Council, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, the Environment Agency, Witherley Parish Council, Leicestershire Police, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue, Severn Trent Water and a local residents group to discuss the short- and long-term impacts of flooding in our area, and will continue to work with everyone involved.
I’m pleased the Government has agreed to look into this, and I will be looking at these necessary improvements to the flooding formula and Flood Resilience Task Force closely.

UPDATE: 8th January 2025
We've experienced heavier than expected rainfall over the past few days in the East Midlands and sadly many areas in our community have flooded once again, causing havoc to local people, their homes and businesses.
Since heavy rainfall started on Sunday there has been over 60 flood alerts and warnings across Leicestershire, and it's welcome news that the weather is improving and 27 of these alerts have now been removed, although the effect of these floods will still be felt by many people across our community.
