Today, Reform-led Leicestershire County Council have confirmed that they are *not proceeding* with controversial proposals to stop commissioning specialist SEND nursery places.
I know how much of a relief this news will be to so many people
The decision is undoubtedly due to the strong response from parents and families across our area, and Leicestershire as a whole, who took the time to express the impact this would have on children and our specialist nurseries.
I'm pleased to have played my part with Alberto Costa and fellow Leicestershire MPs to put forward our communities' concerns. You can find out more about this here: https://www.drlukeevans.org.uk/news/letter-to-leicestershire-county-council-send-provision
This is a prime example of why taking part in a consultation matters, and what can happen when a Local Authority is willing to admit it got something wrong.
Well done to everyone who spoke up and made sure their concerns were heard!
