One of the issues that parents contact me about the most is support and provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Last year the Government told parents that SEND reforms were, rightly, one of its top priorities. However, we recently heard that the publication of these reforms is being delayed until next year.
The lack of a timeframe for when parents and families can expect to learn of these reforms, and rumours around the changes, are causing considerable worry and a resulting spike in applications for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
I asked the Leader of the House of Commons if he could ask the Department for Education to provide a timetable for the reforms. You can see his response here.
