Local MP reiterates cumulative impact of Government policy on small businesses

Recent changes to employers National Insurance Contributions, the proposed Employment Rights Bill, and a reduction of Business Rates Relief from over 70% to 40% have a massive, cumulative impact on local small businesses.

The Minister speaks of an increase to Employment Allowance for small businesses, but the reality of the Budget is that it is a case of ‘one step forward and four steps back’ for businesses who will see their National Insurance bill increase far beyond this small relief.
