Whilst Parliament rose on Wednesday for an unplanned recess without a doubt it has been the busiest week for me and my team since the General Election. Our job is to represent you in the very best way that we can and in these troubling times that job has never been more important.

What a difference a week makes. As I sit down to write my weekly update I reflect that none of us would have thought just a week ago that we would now be living under the absolutely necessary restrictions that we are.

Planned improvments to the A5

I was delighted to receive this letter over the weekend from Baroness Vere, the Roads Minister. 

There’s more to do in delivering much needed improvements for the A5 but it is a massive step in the right direction.

This week has been a very busy one not just because of the first Budget of this Parliament but also because of the evolving situation in respect of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Dr Luke calls for faster tribunal decisions for disabled claimants

Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Hinckley and Bosworth, has called for assessments and awards for disability benefits to be speeded up after figures showed that decisions for his constituents are taking, on average, at least three months longer than in other parts of the country.
