Since the start of the Iran war at the end of February, there have been reports of higher bills for heating oil users and higher fuel prices at forecourts.
I'm interested to know how this is impacting people in our area.
Heating oil
I've been concerned to receive reports from constituents over the past week - 10 days around the sharp rise in the price of heating oil.
At the start of the week, I signed an open letter to the Competition and Markets Authority asking for an urgent investigation into the heating oil supply market. You can read more about my work to date on this here: Dr Luke Evans MP calls for investigation into heating oil price rise
I've been pleased to see the Energy Secretary say that price gouging is unacceptable: Oil Price profiteering will not be tolerated, says Minister | BBC News
I will continue to keep an eye on this, and to do so, it would be helpful to understand how much of our community lives off the mains gas supply, relies on heating oil and the prices that they are being quoted.
Fuel duty
Labour announced it would be scrapping the fuel duty freeze in the Budget last year. This means motorists will face a 5p hike in fuel duty later this year.
At the start of the week Rachel Reeves announced that the 5p fuel duty increase would still go ahead. On Wednesday, during PMQs, Keir Starmer said this was 'under review'
I'm keen to know whether you think it is the right decision for Labour to increase fuel duty, and whether you have seen fuel prices increase locally.
