Why are there no Local Elections in our area this week?
With all the talk of local elections this week - particularly around the effect the results could have nationally - many people have been asking why there are no elections in our area.
Councils across the country have different election cycles.
For example, Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council and North West Leicestershire District Council is elected in full once every four years. As the last elections for HBBC and NWLDC were in 2023, the next full election will not take place until May 2027.
