Earlier this month Alberto Costa, MP for South Leicestershire where the Hinckley NRFI risks being built, and I wrote to the new Secretary of State for Transport to urge her to follow the Planning Inspectorate's recommendation and turn down the proposed rail hub.
We outlined our concerns, and those raised with us by many residents across our communities, with the developer's most recent submissions in response to the previous Transport Secretary's request for additional information.
To approve this scheme despite these unresolved issues would be to disregard the evidence, expert scrutiny, and the overwhelming objections of the local community.
A decision on the proposed Hinckley NRFI is expected to be made by March 10th.
