Today, 10 March 2021, Dr Luke Evans MP has been named as a patron of the Conservative Friend of the Commonwealth.
Conservative Friends of the Commonwealth works to promote the interlinked aims and values of both the Commonwealth and the Conservative Party. They seek to strengthen Conservative ties with the Commonwealth and to uphold a shared commitment to democracy, prosperity and individual liberty.
Dr Luke said: “It’s a huge privilege to be named today as a patron of Conservative Friends of the Commonwealth.
“In celebrating Commonwealth Day Her Majesty The Queen spoke so movingly about the role of the Commonwealth in forging friendships, developing a spirit of unity and celebrating achievements I’m very pleased to have been asked to contribute to this important group.
“The Conservative Party’s sister parties throughout the Commonwealth share so many values and each contribute powerfully to their respective national debates, I very much welcome the opportunity to contribute to those debates and encourage other Conservatives Party members to do so too.”
