Dr Luke Evans, Member of Parliament for Hinckley and Bosworth, has stepped up his campaign to support and protect local businesses affected by Coronavirus by questioning the Prime Minister about support schemes being made available to them.
Workers and businesses across Hinckley and Bosworth have been given a boost by Chancellor Rishi Sunak, who has announced the current furlough scheme would be extended by a further four months with workers continuing to receive 80% of their current salary.
Dr Luke Evans, the Member of Parliament for Bosworth, has welcomed news that government funding for small businesses has been expanded to cover micro businesses which had previously not been eligible for support.
As a GP I know that collecting QOF (Quality Outcome Frameworks) data can be a significant administrative burden. Last night I asked the Health Secretary if he plans to reduce this burden during the current Covid-19 outbreak.
