Did you know our area was in the top 10 constituencies in the UK (that's out of 650!) to sign the petition to strengthen legislation against animal cruelty?
Since becoming your MP I've been campaigning for stronger protections for our beloved pets and harsher punishments for those who seek to do them harm, so I'm really pleased to share that:
- The Animal Welfare (importation of Dogs, Cats and Ferrets) Bill, and
- The Pet Abduction Bill have received Government support!
These important pieces of legislation will, among other things, target puppy smuggling and make it a criminal offence to steal pets.
Knowing how much people in our community love their dogs and to make people aware of this legislation, I want to hear what your favourite dog breed is!
